- Copper
- Darkens to a warm brown, greens at the seams. Re-tinnable, so it outlives the person who bought it.
- Brass
- Left unlacquered. Handles stay bright, everything else goes soft and dark.
- Stoneware
- Wheel-thrown, so no two are the same height. The glaze pools where the wall thickens.
- Lambswool
- Brushed after weaving. Sheds a little in the first month and then stops.
- Olive wood
- Dense enough to resist knife marks. Wants oil twice a year and no dishwasher.
- Marble
- Etches if you leave citrus on it. We think that is fine and say so before you buy.

Runs are small
We buy from workshops, not warehouses, so batches are small and things sell out. We would rather tell you that than pad a shelf with something we do not believe in.
Nothing on the box
Tissue and paper, no plastic and no branded filler. Nothing on the outside says what is inside, which matters more to some people than others.
If it arrives wrong
Send a photograph within seven days and we replace it or refund it, whichever you prefer. We do not ask for the broken one back. That is the whole policy.
